Bryce Canyon National Park is a photographer's dream. At the top of the Canyon, photographers were bumping elbows to capture colorful hoodoos. A short hike away gave us solitude and inner canyon beauty.

You wake up, a chill in the air, fog rising off the water and not a ripple to be seen. One more sip of coffee, throw on your vest and in you go. Water so smooth you hear the hum of your board slice through the water. Does it get any better?

After a morning spent skiing in the mountains of northern Iceland, we set off in pursuit of a natural hot spring within a deep fissure near the region's Krafla volcano.
Playgrounds come in all shapes and sizes, and they're likely the first place your sense of adventure was tested . . . and further cultivated. For the outdoor aficionado, what first started as an obsession for see-saws, swing sets, slides, jungle gyms, and sandboxes, has since turned into an instinctive passion for adventure by means of a different type of playground -- the natural playground.
Whether by trail, rock, water, snow or air, where has your obsession for adventure taken you? What's your photographic definition of Living the Dream? Skiing or snowboarding in the Alps or at your local hill? Climbing in Thailand or at the backyard crag? Mountain Biking in British Columbia or on your neighborhood trails? Surfing pristine Tahiti barrels or a quiet home break? Kayaking through Patagonia or along your favorite coastline?
For those passionate about their adventure and their photography, show us the photographic moments you've captured that will inspire our next adventure . . . in The Natural Playground
Juror's Statement The original concept for the "Natural Playground" exhibit was to create a professional-grade pedestal --with gallery space, editorial content and sponsorships-- and open it to the public through Darkroom Gallery's existing digital-friendly juried exhibit format. Hoping to invite and curate a blend of amateur and professional photos, Corey and I were blown away by the diverse selection of quality images submitted for this first-time, rather spontaneous event. We can't thank our enthusiastic sponsors enough, the great prize packages we secured was icing on the cake --and no doubt helped stoke some of these image submissions. We hope you enjoy the exhibit, which in the end, showcases how much fun you can have while chasing adventure in the outdoors.

He approached us in the Fall of 2010, proposing to prepare and curate a juried gallery exhibit focusing on sports, adventure, travel and the outdoor lifestyle. A concept that relates directly with the active, local Vermont community, as well as the global adventure landscape, we're excited to see "Natural Playgrounds" come to fruition.
As founder and director of Cortex Marketing Network, a full-service marketing and communications agency staffed by an influential group of freelancing professionals, Gural leads the network specializing in integrated brand strategy, design and creative, photo/video production, public relations and copywriting, and event management.
