The Darkroom Gallery is dedicated to photographers and photography.
The Darkroom Gallery Difference
Opened on May 16th, 2010 the Darkroom Gallery is located at the "Five Corners" right next to Martone's Market and Café. The Village of Essex Jct. is located within 10 miles of The University of Vermont and three other Colleges, Downtown Burlington and Burlington International Airport. Our gallery is a bright airy 1300 sq ft first floor store front air conditioned space with hardwood floors and an 11' ceiling. Our lighting system uses 3000K LED flood lights. Nearly every image has a dedicated light and hangs from a fully adjustable hanging system.
The Darkroom Gallery hosts juried exhibits providing opportunities for photographers from around the world to have their work evaluated by qualified jurors for display in our Vermont gallery, on our web site and published in exhibit catalogs with minimum expense or hassle.
We offer free matting and framing of accepted entries for the duration of each of our exhibition, subject to standard sizes. Photographers set their own prices if they wish to sell their work and retain all rights to their photographs. This makes it very easy and inexpensive to get your work on display. Read more about what makes us unique.
DarkroomGallery.com provides a mechanism by which photographers submit their work for monthly exhibits at the Darkroom Gallery and allows jurors to review and select the images to be included in the exhibit. Jurors are established photographers, have produced a body of work in that theme and have received recognition as top professionals. Selections are made by the juror anonymously, based on the quality of the submissions. More on the selection process.
The Darkroom Gallery is our showcase for exhibitions of juror selected photographic images produced by contemporary photographers. Each exhibit expresses a single theme and is displayed at the Darkroom Gallery in Essex Junction, Vermont. We host an opening reception for each exhibit where photographers can meet the public and talk with them about their work.
